Advice to Travellers who Visit Chikmagalur District

Please strictly do not go by google reviews. There are many sightseeing places and offbeat tracks which you can explore other than the usual Mullayanagiri and Bababudangiri when googling places around Chikmagalur. Try exploring Kudremukh, Ballayandurga Fort, Kalasa, Sringeri, Kemmangundi. Please hire jeeps if you are taking short cuts and offbeaten roads as the offbeaten roads are bad and may cause wear and tear to your vehicle.

Please only stay in homestays run by locals to get true hospitality and experience avoid commercially run places. Refer websites run by Local operators and do not rely on websites which are nationally or internationally driven as they lag behind the local counterparts in giving travel tips which makes your journey peaceful and hassle free.
